New Champion: Pyke

Following his champion reveal, PYKE, the BLOODHARBOR RIPPER is headed to the PBE! Before we dive in, Riot Szymba is here with an official bug thread for Pyke:
Heya! 
As of yesterday, the Bloodharbor Riper, Pyke has been unleashed on the PBE. However, we still are very much working on the final touches on him. Let us know of any issues/bugs you find on him here, so we can make sure we know about every one of them.

- R kill system on Zombies and other odd EnterDead states
- Assist gold "Your Cut" item will work properly in all cases
- Fog of War Sounds and VFX
- Death Recap & Buff/Debuff tooltips

Targets hit by either attack are slowed by  90% for 1 second. 
Tapping deals 50% reduced damage to minions and monsters beyond the closest."

Ghostwater Dive (W)
Cost: 75 Mana
Cooldown: 12/11.5/11/10.5/10 sec

"Pyke gains Camouflage and 60/65/70/75/80% (+4% per 100 bonus AD) decaying movement speed for 5s. 
Stealth - Camouflage: Pyke is hidden from view while enemy champions remain outside his detection radius. Attacking or casting spells ends Camouflage."

Phantom Undertow (E)
Cost: 50 Mana
Cooldown: 15 sec
Range: 550
"Pyke dashes, leaving a drowned phantom behind him. After a short delay the phantom returns to Pyke, striking all enemies along it's path dealing 95/130/165/200/235 (+80% Bonus AD) physical damage and stunning for 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5s."

Death From Below (R)
Cost: 100 Mana
Cooldown: 120/100/80 sec
Range: 750
"Pyke strikes all enemy champions in an X, blinking to and executing targets below 190 - 655 (+60% Bonus AD) health. Enemies not executed instead take physical damage equal to the threshold. 
When an enemy champion dies in the X from any source, an assisting ally also gains full kill gold and Pyke may re-cast Death From Below again within 20 seconds. 
Total gold granted: x"
  • R's base damage scales with Pyke's Level (starting at 6)  = 185/225/265/305/345/385/420/455/490/525/560/590/620 
  • Gold granted to ally via an inventory item called "Your Cut". 
  • The execute will bypass shields if target is under threshold .

ARAM Updates on PBE

Here's Riot Popc0rner with more on changes testing in ARAM:
We've got some changes to ARAM coming to PBE! 
Here's a quick list of what's new. We'll be posting a full /dev article on the Nexus that breaks down the reasons behind some of these changes (and more) soon.
  • You now start with the correct amount of experience for Level 3, instead of starting with no experience
  • Warmog's Armor has been removed
  • Dark Harvest soul drop amounts have been reduced from 5 (takedown) / 4 (cannon minion) to 4 / 2.
We've added 3 new experimental items to ARAM:
  • Ghostwalkers
  • Bloodletter's Veil
  • Spectral Cutlass

This set of 3 tutorials will replace the old HA Tutorial and Battle Training. There are still a few kinks we're working out, but we're in the home stretch and getting prepared to release these in the wild.

1) We are not yet rolling this out to all accounts, so your account may still run the old tutorial and battle training. This is not a bug
2) To access the tutorials, go to Play --> Training --> Tutorial and it should take you to our new tutorial menu. If the first card in the selection carousel shows Howling Abyss, unfortunately your account is still using the old tutorials.

Fighter Items on PBE for 8.12

Here's Lowbo with a context and feedback thread for some fighter item changes now testing on the PBE, planned for an 8.12 release - Fighter Items on PBE for 8.12:
"Hello friends! 
I’m Lowbo, a designer on the Gameplay Systems team, and I’m here to talk to you about some changes to Fighter items coming to PBE, intended for release in 8.12. 
Our goal with these changes is to give fighters some tools they can use to carry in a wider variety of game states than they can on live. Currently, a fed fighter is generally restricted to carrying via splitpushing and skirmishing, and most fall off by the lategame. Even when they can, the path to success for some is to build pretty tanky, even if ahead. That may be effective, but isn’t the experience many players of those champs are looking for. 
Some changes that should help out Fighters are already on PBE and are shipping in 8.11: Changes to Last Whisper and its upgrades, Blade of the Ruined King, Bloodthirster, Maw of Malmortius, and Guardian Angel. These changes are supplementary to the 8.11 changes. 
We have some new items, and some changes to existing items:
Spear of Shojin
This item is intended to help champions that build a lot of AD rather than defensive items survive in the middle of teamfights. A lot of champions are capable of bursting one enemy, but the often sacrifice their life to do so. This item will offer survivability in that scenario, enabling them to escape or begin attacking the next target. The range for activation is pretty small, so we’re not expecting this item to be good for most Marksmen. This icon is temporary - new one coming soon! 
Atma's Reckoning
A familiar face, in a different form. Heavier fighters are generally forced to stop scaling their offense to build survivability. This item will help them remain a big threat throughout the whole game, trading off some survivability to do so. Enjoy my designer art icon for now, a new icon is coming soon. 
Sterak's Gage 
50% Base AD >>> 50% Base AD as Bonus AD 
The way Sterak’s Gage is currently built, it’s either balanced on Triforce champions and weak on everyone else, or balanced on most champions but overpowered on Triforce champs. Breaking this synergy allows Sterak’s to become a situational item for a much wider variety of champions. 
Next, some changes to the Hydra items. Fighter builds are some of the most expensive in the game, and the Hydra items are a big part of that. Due to Fighters’ traditional lack of scaling, they have had to have extreme spikes on two items. Now that we are giving them some better lategame tools, shouldn’t spike as hard - and we can take steps to address the pain point of having to build such expensive items.

  • Nautilus' in-client bio was updated on the PBE:
"A lonely legend as old as the first piers sunk in Bilgewater, the armored goliath known as Nautilus roams the dark waters off the coast of the Blue Flame Isles. Driven by a forgotten betrayal, he strikes without warning, swinging his enormous anchor to save the wretched, and drag the greedy to their doom. It is said he comes for those who forget to pay the "Bilgewater tithe", pulling them down beneath the waves with him-- an iron-clad reminder that none can escape the depths."
  • Fizz's in-client bio was also tweaked [new in green]:
"Fizz is an amphibious yordle, who dwells among the reefs surrounding Bilgewater. He often retrieves and returns the tithes cast into the sea by superstitious captains, but even the saltiest of sailors know better than to cross him-- for many are the tales of those who have underestimated this slippery character. Often mistaken for some manner of capricious ocean spirit, he seems able to command the beasts of the deep, and delights in confounding his allies and enemies alike."
  • New Bilgewater themed loot items were added to the PBE:
    • Golden Kraken: Reveals one skin shard, one Legendary Skin Permanent, and loot from one Bloodharbor Medallion (one Bilgewater skin shard and one random skin shard).
    • Bloodharbor Medallion: Reveals one Bilgewater skin shard and one random skin shard.
    • Cursed Capsule: Get three skin shards (with one guaranteed to be Epic or higher), 225 Orange Essence, and a chance to obtain an event-only Bloodharbor Medallion or Golden Kraken. Gemstone and Gemstone Skin drop rate multiplied by 1.5.

Towers
Tower Regen
"One change that's on the PBE at present that's harder to spot is that we're testing out a change to how inhib and nexus towers regenerate health.On Live those towers regenerate some health when damaged. What we're trying is having them only regenerate health up to the next 1/3 marker on them (signaled by notches on their health bars and the damaged tower animations). A tower that's at 79% health for example will still regen up to 100%. A tower at 50% would regen to 66%. And a tower at 32% would regen to 33% etc. 
We're making that change in part to open up the ways you can approach taking down a base. The full regen model makes partial sieges much lower value unless you're coming back soon. It also means split pushing against an inhib tower tends to be an all or nothing thing a lot of the time. Giving partial success cases (cool, got it below 33% even if we didn't kill it) should help out those as alternative strategies to usually just blowing through the whole tower in one go, usually as a full team."

Jungle

Maple on changes coming for the Jungle:
  • "Increasing Scuttle Crab respawn time slightly (15 seconds) and increasing xp on other jungle camps slightly to account for that."
