New Champion - Kai'Sa

Following her champion reveal, our new champion, Kai'Sa, Daughter of the Void, is now on the PBE for testing! PBE Testers can report bugs in [this thread].

Kai'Sa's attacks detonate Plasma at 4 stacks, dealing bonus damage equal to ([15-20] + [2.5 per 100 AP])% of the target's missing health (max: 400 against monsters).
Allies' immobilizing effects on champions also add 1 stack of Plasma.
Living Weapon - Kai'Sa's suit adapts to her choices, evolving her abilities based on permanent stats from Items and Champion Levels.

Living Weapon - 100 Bonus Attack Damage (current: X) - Icathian Rain fires 12 missiles. 
Minions below 35% health take 200% damage."
  • After upgraded with living weapon, Q's 12 rockets make the maximum damage to 194/263/333/403/473 (+172% AD)(+129% AP)

A new login theme featuring our upcoming champion Kai'Sa is now on the PBE:

A strange file named "KAISA_EXOSUIT_LOADER.log"  popped up in the files this cycle.  This small file contains the following text containing what seems to be a system log, a mention of Exosuit Weapon Systems, a header reading "FORTUNE", Kai'sa, a bounty on an unnamed individual, and several other mysterious tidbits.

Cooldown Reset Flair

Here's EdwinMols with a new feature testing on the PBE, which will flare certain abilities when you get the reset:
"Hey guys, 
We added a small aesthetic flair to the ability bar that's on PBE right now - it plays whenever the cooldown on a champion's ability is fully reset (will not play on partial resets). In the example gif, Draven's W is reset every time he catches an axe. The goal for this is to make ability resets feel more satisfying and be a little more noticeable.

As you've may have noticed, we've recently made some changes to the old parties system. Before, parties had really rudimentary functionality: You could invite friends to join if they were eligible, you could select your positions and... that was pretty much it.

Hi PBErs, I’m QA Analyst Chupaacabra fresh off of Open Parties, back to talk about premade Voice, now available on PBE. As a heads up, Voice won’t be coming to Live regions in the next patch (8.5), but we’re not far out from our live release. 
What the hey is premade Voice and how do I do things with it 
Premade voice is a voice chat system that you will join automatically once you enter a party with another person. This means you won’t be in a Voice channel with someone unless they are specifically in your party - you won’t be able to talk to randos in your game who aren’t in your party. 
Once you’re in a party with someone, you’ll be able to see who is in your voice session and access Voice settings in the Voice panel, located next to your missions at the bottom of the friends list. 
If you don’t want to join a Voice session automatically, we’ll have the option available to you to turn that off- this setting will be remembered for you on the client side, so you won’t have to keep doing it every time you log in. 
While in the lobby, you’ll see Voice halos show up on a player’s summoner icon to indicate when they are talking on their mic. You’ll also be able to see this in the Voice panel. 
Once you’re in champ select, you’ll still have access to the Voice panel and you’ll see Voice halos for when players are speaking here. 
Once you’re in-game, you’ll have access to the Voice panel through a little button located next to the minimap, when you press TAB to view your scoreboard, and you’ll also be able to open the panel on its own by pressing “m”. You’ll be able to see when you are speaking or your teammates are speaking through voice halos on your champion portrait and theirs. If you don’t want to see the Voice halos in-game, we have the option for you to disable them. 
You’ll also be able to access Voice halos and panels on the EOG screen, and you’ll seamlessly remain in the same voice session with your party if you click “play again”. 
What we’d love to hear from you is your feedback on the current voice functionality, bug reports, any hardware problems you encounter, and if you find yourself having bad quality audio when you or others in your party are talking. Thanks for your help! 
KNOWN ISSUES:
  • Push to talk option is not available on mac clients - We will definitely be fixing this for or shortly after the full voice live launch. Windows users will have full access to Push to talk
  • You may experience some crackly audio on mac clients while using auxillary hardware for voice - we have a fix coming shortly for this"

What the heck is an Open Party and why do I care 
Ever get in the mood to play League with a group but don’t like having to send dozens of invites? Do your friends keep afk’ing to make a sandwich instead of inviting more people? We want to help you with that. 
An Open party will allow anyone in your or any party members’ friends lists to join your lobby. You’ll be able to spot an Open Party in your own friends list through the green highlight that will appear next to friends who are in an Open Party. There will also be information about their lobby in their status message so you know what mode they are playing and how many people they have. 
If you hover over the player with an Open party in your Friends list, you’ll see more information in their hovercard that tells you who is already in the lobby. This way you can avoid that dingus friend of a friend you really don’t want to play with.
To join the party, simply hover over the player with an Open party in your Friends list and click the Join button. You’ll be taken to that player’s lobby! 
How do I control whether my party is Open or Closed? 
This is you, a Party captain in an Open Party. As you can see, you have a Party card in the Social panel that indicates what type of lobby you are in and how many people are in it. You can see the Open Party toggle at the top right of the lobby, next to the invite button. Clicking that toggle will close the party. Once you toggle your party Open or Closed, we’ll remember that setting for you until you change it. That way you won’t have to deal with Open parties if you don’t want to, and you can leave Open parties on if you wanna lure in more party members. 
This is what it looks like when you are in a Closed party. If you want to reopen it, you can simply click the toggle.
Note that only the Party captain can change whether a party is open or closed.

  • Base AD lowered from 62 to 59
  • AD per level increased from 2.4 to 3 
    • (AD at 18 increased from 103 to 110)
  • Harrier (Passive) "Auto-attacks that are already in-flight will now trigger and consume the Harrier mark"
  • Behind Enemy Lines (R)
    • Fixed a bug that would sometimes prevent Skystrike from firing
    • Skystrike now applies her Harrier mark to all enemy champions hit
    • Fixed a bug where Skystrike would deal double damage if fired by re-activating her R
    • Channeling no longer breaks when taking damage
    • Removed the in-combat state that would refresh R’s cooldown every time combat was entered
    • Taking damage from non-minions while channeling or while Behind Enemy Lines is active no longer breaks the channel or form. Instead, the movement speed bonus is removed for 2 seconds. Taking damage from minions no longer has any effect. 
    • Fixed a bug causing Behind Enemy Lines to immediately end when used while attacking a turret
    • Fixed a bug that would cause movement orders to be removed or ignored while casting Behind Enemy Lines
    • Returning to the fountain now automatically casts Behind Enemy Lines if it has been learned

  • "Lockout time before Rengar can cast empowered spells reduced to .1 from .25"
  • Unseen Predator (P) Ferocity falloff timer increased from 6 to 8

    • damage increased from 20/50/80/110/140 (+1.1 TAD) to 30/60/90/120/150 (+1/1.05/1.1/1.15/1.2 TAD)
  • Thrill of the Hunt (R) Rengar's true vision now lingers until end of leap
  • Bug fixes and feel improvements; 
"Lockout duration on gaining full ferocity for E and Q reduced to .1 seconds (from .25)
Only the spell used to gain full ferocity is locked out 
Q attacks can now be canceled (like a normal basic attack) 
If Rengar presses Q or W during the E cast time he will now buffer those spells and cast them when the E completes.
---------Previously movement orders would eat the input and you'd have to press Q and W again. This should make his Leap - E - W - Q combo feel a lot smoother. 
Fixed a bug where tiamat could sometimes cause Rengar's basic attacks to become the Q animation
Fixed a bug where Emp Q's attack frame was slightly faster than base Q 
Still hunting down the bug where he sometimes drops aggro on his target when casting E and W. We think we have a fix, but we're not sure. It's weird..."
