6/10 PBE Update: Chroma assets, tentative Ryze balance changes, HUD Update returns, and more

The PBE has been updated! Our second patch of the 5.12 PBE cycle is small but includes champion select assets for the five new chroma sets, the return of the HUD Update, and tentative balance changes for Ryze.

HUD Update is back

The previously announced HUD Update is now back on the PBE for additional testing! Remember that this update is a heavy work in progress.
Here's Chager with the latest on the update:
"Hi all, 
Just a quick note that the HUD Update is now on and will stay on until we go to live environments with it (actual date of live tbd). 
Notable changes:
  • PAR bars are now on the team frames 
Notable Bugs:
  • We're still working through some scaling issues 
  • All of the PAR bars are Blue (Regardless as to if your team mates use mana or not) 
As mentioned above, the team frames now once again show ally resources (mana, energy, etc)!

New Chroma Pack Assets

Proper champion select and shop assets have been added for the five new chroma packs currently on the PBE for testing, including Caitlyn, Darius, Morgana, Rocket Girl Tristana, and Zac.

Here is what the champion select assets look like for the color variations:

Caitlyn: Rebel Chroma - Pink, Green, Blue

Darius: Forge Chroma - Black Iron, Bronze, Copper

Morgana: Haunt Chroma - Toxic, Pale, Ebony

Rocket Girl Tristana: Punk Chroma - Navy, Purple, Orange

Zac: Sweet Chroma - Orange, Bubblegum, Honey

As an extra note,  it looks like Headhunter Master Yi displays a chroma selection on his champion select screen. There are no in-game assets or anything but it might be a nod that he'll get on the in the future.


  • [BUG FIX] Super Galaxy Rumble's drill now once again changes colors when he overheats. 

Balance Changes

* Remember *: The PBE is a testing grounds for new, tentative, and sometimes radical changes. The changes you see below may be lacking context or other accompanying changes that didn't make it in - don't freak out! These are not official notes.

  • Mana Regen per second reverted back to 1.7 from 1.2
  • Mana regen per second growth reverted back to .12 from .16
  • [ContextThese changes, originally from 6/9 update, were unintentional.  Lulu's mana regen + growth has been reverted back to live values.]

  • [Note: These are RELATIVE TO THE PREVIOUS PBE CHANGES. If you'd like to see a list of all the Ryze changes currently on the PBE, please click here.]
  • Overload (Q) cooldown reducing effect for Arcane Mastery reduced to 60/70/80/90/100% of Q's cooldown from 105/110/115/120/125%
  • Overload (Q)'s new passive now also reads "and spells that would reduce Overload's cooldown instead fully reset it."
  • Rune Prison (W) cooldown lowered to 22/21/20/19/18 from 24 at all ranks 
  • Spell Flux (E) cooldown reduced to 6.25/5.75/5.25/4.75/4.25 from 7.25/6.75/6.25/5.75/5.25
  • Spell Flux (E) mana cost decreased to 50/55/60/65/70 from 60/65/70/75/80
  • Desperate Power (R) duration reverted back to 6 seconds from 4 seconds
  • [Note: This is actually a tooltip bug fix. While the tooltip was changed in the 6/9 update to 4 seconds, it  was actually still 6 secs and 6 is the intended duration.]
