Shurima Event ends September 21

Here's Pabro with a reminder that the SHURIMA event is ending soon!
"When the sun sets on September 21, the Shurima event and sales will end. Ascension will remain active until the next patch and you’ll be able to earn rewards until then. Check your progress toward exclusive summoner icons and good luck rising to the occasion!"
As noted above, ASCENSION will be staying on until the next patch,4.17, hits live!

The Shurima promo page has been updated with this epilogue:
"Shurima is resurrected, and Runterra's future is forever altered. Xerath and Renekton have been unleashed from the Tomb of the Emperors. Nasus, haunted by his brother's heroic sacrifice, is relentlessly pursued by Renekton in his mad thirst for vengeance. Bristling with power and resentment, Xerath plots to reforge Valoran in the fires of revolution. The serpent's curse is the terrible price of Cassiopeia's ambition, but it also promises a power she never imagined. Azir, Ascended ruler of a fallen civilization, envisions a new Shuriman empire, while his descendant Sivir, ever the mercenary, looks to turn the situation to her advantage. Shurima is a land of mystery... but some mysteries refuse to remain buried."

[Continued] A more consistent Gangplank ult

Following up on comments he made in late August about a more consistent Gangplank ult preceding his gameplay update, Meddler popped back in to note it will be coming along with visual effect changes:
"The ult changes I mentioned previously (making it a more consistent effect) have tested well. Next step is to get some visual effects changes done (still going for a cannon barrage, we'd like to adjust it a bit to better match the new, more reliable functionality though). Once those visual effects are good to go we'll throw the changes onto the PBE."

[Continued] Sona Rework Discussion

In a thread discussing the Sona rework that went live in patch 4.13, Fearless stepped in to comment on the recent PBE change to her Q's range and on follow up changes:
"Hopping in here because I feel like I'm being spoken for, and what's being said here isn't accurate.
The Q change is a bug fix. The range change was never intended, and a range change is one of the last things we'd do to change Sona, as range changes are very disruptive.
As to not changing her, there are changes in test. Those changes might not ever reach live, but we're not ignoring the problems. This is still something I'm working on. There is a lot of value to getting to see how you all talk about Sona without me jumping in. I learn a lot from the discussion you have. If I commented on every Sona thread, it's likely that I warp all Sona discussion. I'm working on finding a balance of making sure you all know that we are listening while letting the discussion actually exist without me. Also need to improve communication that Sona isn't forgotten, but that real and healthy changes to her will take significant testing and iteration.
Happy to get the feedback that this needs to get better. I owe it to you all to keep improving here."

Pillar of One Damage? Ice

When asked why Trundle's Pillar of Ice ability deals 1 damage to champions, Meddler commented:
"Yeah, Trundle's pillar is deliberately set up to draw agro around towers as are a couple of other non damaging spells that affect enemies (Zilean's Time Bombs for example draw agro on application, despite no damage being dealt then, not just when they detonate)."

Azir bug fixes in 4.18

With Azir  nesting up on live after his release last week , ZenonTheStoic noted on twitter that additional bug fixes will come with patch 4.18:
"Bug fixes will be in 4.18, not 4.17. We missed the cutoff for 4.17 because we were working on the 4.16 hotfix so long. Sorry!"
