The Shadow Isles patch has hit NA ( and soon EUW/EUNE ) and Riot has provided a video preview of the updated Twisted Treeline map that came along with it.

Continue reading for video overview of the new map, including a review of all the fancy new items!

"The new Twisted Treeline Beta is live. We got some great feedback from PBE testers, so now it’s time to hear what all of you think about the new 3v3 battleground. Whether you’re a veteran Twisted Treeline player who topped out the ladder last season, or you’re just sitting down to your first 3v3 match, your feedback is important to us, so leave us your comments!

To recap, here are some of the revisions you can expect from the original map:
  • New terrain and new items to help improve the number of viable team comps
  • A condensed jungle with reliable monster camps to focus the action towards the center where junglers can gank both lanes
  • Wider choke points near the inhibitors and a wall separating the shrine turret from the Nexus to prevent late game turtling
  • An epic new spider boss and two neutral altars to encourage combat around team-wide buffs
  • Beginner and intermediate bots specifically designed for the new terrain and mechanics, available in both Custom games and Co-op vs. AI matchmaking
Remember that even though it’s passed through PBE, the new TT is still in beta and we need your help as we continue to improve 3v3 League of Legends. We have a team of designers specifically devoted to supporting the Twisted Treeline remake, so be sure to stop over at the Twisted Treeline forums to leave your feedback and comments on how we can make the experience better.

Give us your feedback on the new Twisted Treeline here."

  4. i dont like the bush near the turret on bot, champions like shaco or rengar could have an unfair advantage of that.

  5. It's great!, the only thing i dont like its the graphic lag, in teamfights (mostly in jungle or with a lot of minions) my fps drops... a lot..., i hope RIOT fix this, because im not the only one who got this issue too :/

    1. Why don't you just lower your video settings? Imo it's good that they upgrade the graphic, so they keep LoL up to date. :)

    2. It's happening to myself and a friend of mine to, and we both run at 60fps normally, even during team fights. On this map, whenever I use an ability, it drops to about 20fps.

    3. It happens to me too. It's a very pretty map, but it makes my pc freeze for brief moments.

  8. I don't like the altars, they stifle a team's opportunity for a comeback, if you have to defend your base from super minions the enemy team will cap both altars and gain damage, making a comeback even less favorable...

    1. I really think that's the point of the new TT, fast, quick games. The old map could drag on for a LONG time, so far, these have all been pretty quick games, I like it.
