Today I'd like to share a little about one of my favorite League of Legends related places, Gaming Utopia!

Gaming Utopia is a LAN center located in Southern Indiana / Louisville, Kentucky area. Featuring tons of PCs and Xboxs with hundreds of playable games, GU offers a 24/7 gaming experience for as little as $1 per hour. I spend a lot of time up here and if you give it a shot, I think you would love it too! Here is a short promotional video for them to give you a feel for what GU is about:

I'm sharing this fantastic place with you is because they hold frequent League of Legends competitions and they would love to see new teams duking it out for a slice of that sweet, sweet prize pool!

The next big LoL event is slated for August 17th, starting at 2:00 pm, and will be a double elimination tournament conducted on Summoner's Rift. The entry fee is $50 per team, half of which will be put directly into the prize pool for the event. The prize pool, which includes official Riot tournament support, is as follows:
Included for first place is the rare Triumphant Ryze skin, only available to those who win official competition matches.
1st Place: Team splits a cash prize ( 70% of the total entry fee pot ) and each player receives $20 worth of RP and the exclusive Triumphant Ryze skin
2nd Place: Team splits a cash prize ( 30% of the total entry fee pot ) and $15 RP per player
3rd Place: $10 RP per player.
4th Place:  $5 RP per player.
GU features 32 high end gaming PC's for you to play on, but if that doesn't float your boat you are more than welcome to bring your own rig, keyboard and mouse, or headset for the event.

An online sign up is available or you can stop by the store at 1011 Vincennes St, Suit 2 in New Albany Indiana, right across from New Albany High school. There are currently around ten team participating, but the more the merrier! If you have any additional questions, feel free to visit Gaming Utopia's website  or check them out on Twitter or Facebook.  Even if the tournament isn't exactly your idea of fun, feel free to come on by and queue up with the numerous other Summoners who frequent GU.

    1. The 1st and 2nd place prizes include CASH! 50% of all team entry fees go into the post. Right now, with only 10 teams entered, that would put $250 into the pot. This would award $175 for first place and $75 for second place.

Thats not right its $10 per player so its $50 per team to enter. First place gets 70% of the pot and 2nd place gets 30% of the pot. Additional is riot points and skins. On top of that any more teams then 10 sign up everything from the 11th team on goes to the pot. If 20 team shows up the pot is $750 and first place takes 70% and 2nd place takes 30%.
