New Champion: Kled, the Cantankerous Cavalier

Following their reveal, our newest champion KLED and his mount SKAARL are now on the PBE for testing!

While Kled is testing on the PBE, be sure to drop off feedback here in the KLED BUG THREAD.

Kled, the Cantankerous Cavalier

Before we jump into kit specifics, here's a brief preview of Kled's abilities in action:

[Added in the 7/29 PBE Update, here is Kled's unmounted dance]

Stats and Abilities

Mounted:
  • "Skaarl" HP: 400
  • "Skaarl" HP Growth: 65
  • Base Armor: 26
  • Armor Growth: 4
  • Base Magic Resist: 32.1
  • Magic Resist per level: 1.25
  • Base Health Regen per second: 1.2
  • Health Regen growth per second: .15
  • Base Attack damage: 55
  • Attack damage growth: 3
  • Attack range: 125
  • Movement Speed: 345

Not Mounted:
  • Same as mounted except for HP, Attack Range, Movement Speed.
  • "Kled" HP: 340
  • "Kled" HP Growth: 70
  • Attack Range: 250
  • Movement Speed:  285

Skaarl the Cowardly Lizard (Passive)
"Mounted: Skaarl takes damage instead of Kled. When Skaarl's health depletes. Kled dismounts. Bonus health applies to Skaarl only.
Dismounted: Kled's abilities change. He gains [100 + 5 per level] (scales with level) movement speed toward enemy champions, but deals 80% damage with his basic attacks.
Kled restores Skaarl's courage by killing enemies and attacking champions, structures, and epic monsters. At 100 courage, Kled remounts with [50% at 1. 60% at 6, 70% at 11, 80% at 16] of Skaarl's health. "
  • Green bar is Kled, other bar is Skaarl
  • Kled's total health is  "Kled's HP" + "Skaarl's HP", and Kled is unmounted when you hit the amount equal to Kled's HP
  • Bonus health only adds to Skaarl's HP, meaning Kled essentially only has base health + health growth when not mounted.
  • Returning to base mounts Kled.
  • When you are dismounted, imagine it has having a "health cap" that you can not heal above.
  • There is a short duration after being dismounted that you can not restore courage.
  •  Values for Courage restore:
    • 4 Courage from last hitting minion.
    • 5 Courage for hitting an enemy structure or epic monster.
    • 20 Courage from killing/assist a champion (as long as hit within last 3 seconds)
    • 15 Courage for hitting an enemy champion

Beartrap on a Rope (Mounted Q)
Cooldown: 9/8.5/8/7.5/7
[Range]
"Kled throws a bear trap that deals 25/50/75/100/125 (+60% bonus AD) physical damage and hooks onto the first enemy champion or epic monster hit. Deals 150% damage to minions passed through.
If Kled stays near a hooked enemy for 1.75 seconds, he deals 50/100/150/200/250 (+120% bonus AD) physical damage, yanks the enemy toward him, and slows the enemy by 40/45/50/55/60% for 1.5 seconds.
Dismounted: Becomes Pocket Pistol, a ranged ability that restores courage."

Pocket Pistol (Unmounted Q)
Cooldown: 20 sec ammo recharge (decreases by .75 sec  with level ), 2 max ammo, & 3 second cooldown.
[Range]
"Kled fires a gun blast, hurling him backward. Enemies hit take 30/45/60/75/90 (+80% bonus AD) physical damage, plus 20% per additional pellet past the first
Each pellet that hits an enemy champion restores 5% of Skaarl's courage."

Violent Tendencies (W)
Cooldown: 14/12.5/11/9.5/8
"Passive: When Kled basic attacks, he frenzies, gaining 150% attack speed for four attacks or 4 seconds. Violent Tendencies then goes on cooldown.
The fourth hit deals bonus physical damage equal to 20/30/40/50/60 plus 4/5/6/7/8% (+5% per 100 bonus AD) of the target's maximum health."

Jousting (Mounted Only E)
Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10
[Range]
"Kled dashes, dealing 20/45/70/95/120 (+60% bonus AD) physical damage to enemies in his path. Cannot cross walls.
If Jousting hits an enemy champion or large monster, Kled gains 50% movement speed for 1 second, and can reactivate this ability to dash back through the same target, dealing the same damage."

CHAAAAAAARGE!!! (Mounted Only R)
Cooldown: 160/140/120
Range: [5000]
"Kled charges toward a location, leaving a trail that grants allies increasing movement speed. While charging, Kled gains a shield that increases over time to a maximum of 200/300/400 (+300% bonus AD) and lasts for 2 seconds after the charge ends.
Skaarl rams the first enemy champion encountered, dealing up to 12/15/18% (+12% per 100 AD) of the target's maximum health as physical damage based on distance traveled."
  • All enemies hear the horn when he actives.
  • CC immune during charge.

Voiceover

Here's Kled's ridiculous voiceover, clocking in at over 20 minutes long - including mounted and unmounted lines, general champion kill and champion specific kill lanes, and more!

And here are his special interactions:

Here are some of Kled's Non English VOs:

Here's Kled Champion select quote:

"I find courage unpredictable. It's total insanity you can rely on."

Lore

Here's the short form version of Kled's lore, expect a larger story closer to release!
''A sane man would run . . . but I ain't the runnin' kind!''

A warrior as fearless as he is ornery, Kled is a popular folk hero in Noxus. Embodying the furious bravado of his nation, he is an icon beloved by the empire's soldiers, distrusted by its officers, and loathed by the nobility. Tall tales such as ''The Great Hussar,'' ''The High General Marshal Sergeant,'' and ''The Mountain Admiral'' trace back to the founding of the empire. Many soldiers claim Kled has fought in every campaign the legions have waged, has ''acquired'' every military title, and has never once backed down from a fight. Though the veracity of the details is often questionable, one part of his legend is undeniable: Charging into battle on his un-trusty steed, Skaarl, Kled fights to protect what's his . . . and to take whatever he can get.

Release Skin - Sir Kled

Kled's release skin is Sir Kled, a fantasy themed take on Kled and Skaarl!

Sir Kled

Here's Nurse Flan with a Bugs & Feedback Thread for Sir Kled:

"With his trusty bird-sidekick Skaarl, Sir Kled has donned his slightly rusty armor and is ready to take on any medieval trespassers!
Fun Development Fact: The artist who modeled and textured Sir Kled also worked on PROJECT: Katarina!
Fun Sir Kled Facts:
  • Completely new model! (so medieval!)
  • Some new VFX! (Q, and a shift on W! Plus some ambient feathers!)
  • New recalls! (for mounted and unmounted!)

We'd love to hear your thoughts and feelings on the new Sir Kled as you take a first look at this in-progress skin! The feedback and bugs you leave here will help us get a better idea of things we may still have to take a look at. :]
See you on the Rift!"

Here's SuperCakes with context thread on the return of and changes to the previously seen SKT T1 Skin set!
"Hey everyone!
As our SKT T1 World Championship skins hit PBE, I wanted to circle back and chat about the changes we’ve made.
Before I get into the details, I want to thank you again for helping us see how much better these skins could be. We took a little extra time to really focus in on what would make these skins feel special, and we think it’s totally worth it.
The teams combed through all of the player feedback, but also used this as an opportunity to work with SKT T1 to make the skins commemorate the pros themselves. Here’s what we ended up with:
  • Outfit changes
  • VFX updates and recall animations added
  • Added Azir and replaced Sivir with Kalista
2015 SKT T1 uniform colors
We changed the outfits on all of the skins to reflect SKT T1’s 2015 uniform. We considered using the color scheme from their World Championship uniforms, but since those were primarily black, we chose to go in a direction that would make for a visually compelling skin while also celebrating their 2015 colors.
Added some bells and whistles
It was hard to choose which skins to do VFX and Recall Animations for, so we didn’t choose! Each skin has some amount of particle updates to commemorate the team as well as a new recall animation.
Speaking of recall animations…
We love making recall animations for our skins and this time was extra special. We reached out to each of the pros and asked them to help us design a recall that would celebrate them!
Azir… you weren’t so Easy…
See what I did there? Let’s be honest, Azir is a pretty complex champion. This one was never going to be as easy as an outfit, a few particles, and a recall. When you make a skin for Azir, you have to go all in. We’re really excited about how this one turned out. We hope you (and Easyhoon) are too!
Oh, hey there Kalista!
At the time we decided to re-work the skins, we weren’t sure if we’d be able to get Kalista done. She had a different skin in production at the time and this meant adding a completely new skin (in addition to Azir) at a time we hadn’t planned for one (let alone two). But after listening to all of you (and Bang) we knew we had an opportunity to really get this right. So, we added the Kalista skin and we hope you’re as happy as we are with it!
Making a splash!
A lot of players were disappointed they never got to see the splash for the original set. We were too! Using a combination of talent and wizardry, our splash artist was able to take the original splash and make it that much better! What do you think?
So, that’s pretty much it. Take the skins for a spin on PBE and let us know what you think.
After this year’s Worlds, we’ll be bringing the winning team out to Riot HQ to work directly with the team on designing the next set. Who do you hope will get some Worlds skins next year?
Play safe!
SuperCakes"

and here's Riot Aotus with a Bugs & Feedback Thread for the SKT T1 Skins:

Ascension Mode Changes on PBE!

Ascension is back up on the PBE for more RGMQ testing, including changes to how the Ascended mechanic works - now drops a relic for folks to pick up!

Here's DefaultChat with more info:
"Hey all!
As part of our ongoing commitment to refreshing the RGM modes, I’m here today to talk to you about Ascension!
The major point we’ve been looking to hit is Ascended Xerath (Hereafter referred to as “Xerath”): As players get more experienced with the mode, we’re seeing that Xerath is taken less and less often, which is minimizing one of the fun points of conflict for the mode (And hurting your ability to be a badass Ascended God :) ). We’re trying something a bit different this time, detailed below.
I would however like to preface this by saying this is something we’re being cautious on: We know there are going to be some negative consequences to these changes, but think the mode should overall be more enjoyable.
Ascension Changes:
Tl;DR:
When you kill Xerath, he now drops a relic which a player can pick up to Ascend.
We’re trying to encourage “Fairer” contests around Xerath, which favor the team that committed to taking him without making it entirely unstealable. We’re doing that both by changing the brush (So the Xerath pit is a tad harder to approach in Fog of War), and the Buff handoff method so that the “Last moment snipe” is insufficient alone.
Xerath Changes:
We’ve reduced the reward for killing Ascended Units (Xerath or Champs) to 3 (From 5)
When you kill Xerath, a relic will begin descending, and a ring will display. After 3 seconds, the relic will spawn.
Once the relic has been spawned, it can be picked up, following the rules below:
  1. IF there are members of Both Teams standing in the ring, nothing will happen.
  2. Otherwise, if the person who killed Xerath is in the ring, he becomes Ascended.
  3. Otherwise, the person closest to the center of the relic becomes Ascended.
The relic will expire 15 seconds after descending if nobody has picked it up. If it does, Xerath will respawn as normal.
Map Change:
To increase map safety, Ascension no longer has a Bush directly below Xerath.
* I’m generally fairly happy with this change in all cases. Unless I’m missing something, would probably keep this in regardless of how the Xerath change feels."
