8/30 PBE Update: Chroma Assets, Tentative Balance Changes & More

The PBE has been updated! As we continue the 11.18 PBE cycle, today's patch includes chroma assets, new loot, and tentative balance changes!

      • "Make a wish to the Full moon with this bag.   • Base AD lowered from 57 to 55
  • AS per level lowered from 2.1 to 1.8

  • Volley (W) cooldown increased from 14/11.5/9/6.5/4 to 18/14.5/11/7.5/4

Dr. Mundo
  • Infected Bonesaw (Q) capped monster damage increased from 300/350/400/450/500 to 350/425/500/575/650
  • Maximum Dosage (R) 
    • Effect changed: 
      • "Dr Mundo pumps himself with chemicals, temporarily gaining 15/20/25% of his missing Health as Bonus Health, then gaining 15/25/25% movespeed, 4/5.5/7% bonus health Attack Damage, and regenerating 20/40/60% max Health over 10 seconds."

Context & Notes

1) Riot Jag posted the 11.18 PBE Preview:
"11.18 Patch Preview is here! 
Reminder: this is effectively part 1 of our Worlds patches (11.19 will finish it off). Also, just for Worlds, we didn't limit the patch by requiring matching buffs with nerfs 1 for 1."
He added:
"More context on 11.18's Dr. Mundo and Soraka buffs. I would not say we think Grievous Wounds is in a optimal state - we do want to revisit the system. In the meantime, we're going to change Dr. Mundo and Soraka to smooth them out a bit given the counter items available. (1/3)
The goal is to increase performance when GW is applied to them, and slightly reduce it otherwise. A fair amount of champions invest heavily in healing; these two, more than others, are entirely built around healing as the output they actually offer. (2/3) 
This is contrast to say, Aatrox, Vladimir, or Swain, who definitely care about healing but have a lot of healing-independent offensive outputs to give their team. (3/3)

2) Here's the latest from the r/LeaguePBE feedback threads:

Updated thread to add PBE feedback notes. 
  • For Q audio, we couldn't find any Lunar Beast audio in game, though it does appear in some preview videos. We are making some tonal adjustments to bump up the rock feel a bit more!
  • For E audio, the Lunar Beast audio does appear in some preview videos, but not in game. We discussed how to balance the music in the Mist - and we did try for a while to make it work. Unlike Evelynn, where her stealth is long but ends as soon as combat begins, and she can't dive in and out of it in the same way Viego can in a fight, it felt very disruptive. We're re-evaluating the mix and making sure mist levels are good but no major changes planned.
Not Changing:
  • For the R audio, we won't be making any changes for craft reasons - the vocal scream is in the execute which is the biggest moment and we want to keep the focus on that and possession.
  • For the E VFX, if we play up the fog it will cover up the red sci-fi stage-lighting in the mist. Since we feel that's an important aspect for Viego, to have this alien feel, we won't be making any changes.
