11/2 PBE Update: Skin Bios & Tentative Balance Changes

The PBE has been updated! As we continue the 10.23 PBE cycle, today's patch includes skin bios & more tentative balance changes!

  • Skin bios added to the PBE in today's update:
    • Battlecast Nasus: "The latest monstrosity constructed by Viktor, Battlecast Nasus units specialize in the targeted retrieval of high-priority targets. As they hunt for their quarry, their machinery is programmed to learn and adapt, increasing their destructive capacity and empowering them to obliterate all that would stand in their way."
    • Battlecast Zac: "Never content with his extant creations, Viktor's latest innovation has forged an experimental alloy that shifts between liquid and solid states. Incredibly flexible yet nigh-indestructible, the new zoophagus assault constructs, or ZACs, spring onto the battlefield, harvesting and consuming any resistance that stands in their way."
  • Battlecast Zac missing chroma asset added (only five were on the PBE last week):

Balance Changes

NOTE*: The PBE is a testing grounds for new, tentative, & potentially experimental changes. Be aware that what you see below may be relative to other changes from earlier this cycle! These are not official notes and may be incomplete.


  • Death Lotus (R) on hit effectiveness lowered from 33% to 25%

  • Omnivamp increased from 8% to 12%
  • Challenging Path passive renamed from "Ashen Path"
  • Challenging Smite renamed from "Immolating Smite"

  • Omnivamp increased from 8% to 12%
  • Chilling Path passive renamed from "Frostworn Path"

Doran's Shield
  • Endure passive renamed from "Outlast"

Sterak's Gage
  • Bloodlust passive:
    • Melee health lowered from 2% to 1.5%
    • Ranged health lowered from 1% to .9%
  • Lifeline passive:
    • Ranged health increased from 4% to 4.8%

Sunborn Aegis
  • Renamed from "Sunfire Aegis"

  • Halting Slash Active renamed from "Swift Slash"
  • Heroic Gait passive:
    • movespeed increased from 20 to 30
    • movespeed no longer increased on unit kills

Ornn Masterwork Items
  • Names changed on a few of Ornn's masterwork items!
    • New names:
      • Draktharr's Shadowcarver
      • Turbocharged Hexperiment
      • Forgefire Crest
      • Rimeforged Grasp
      • Typhoon
      • Wyrmfallen Sacrifice
      • Icathia's Curse

TFT Champions

Tier 3
Xin Zhao
  • Attack damage increased from 200/250/350% to 350/400/500%
  • Armor and MR increased from 40/50/150 to 50/70/150

  • Ability max health as damage corrected from 4/6/90% to 4/6/9%

Tier 4
  • Ability stun duration changed from 0.75/0.75/2.25 to 0.75/0.75/3

Context & Notes

1) Riot Scruffy provided a preview of Patch 10.23 changes:
"10.23 Patch Preview - PRESEASON! 
It's a big preseason, so much is changing that we don't have our typical champion buffs and nerfs.  
We'll be watching everything very closely after Preseason ships to be ready for hotfixing bugs, items, and champions that we need to."
He added:
"A detail you may have missed on Preseason PBE - Item Haste (like from cosmic insight) affects both item actives and passives.  
This really lets you invest in item proc/active builds if they're big for your playstyle."
2)  Kiwikid noted on twitter that Battlecast Zac's splash art was going to be tweaked, making it lighter to better reflect the in-game model.
