6/4 PBE Update: King of Clubs Morde Tweaks, Ward Skin Assets & More

The PBE has been updated! As we continue the 9.12 PBE cycle, today's patch includes continued Mordekaiser update testing, store images for Team/Fan pass ward skins, & tons of tentative balance changes!

Continued Mordekaiser Update Testing

As Mordekaiser's champion update continues testing on the PBE this cycle, today's update brings tweaks to King of Clubs Mordekaiser:


  • Dark Star Karma skin bio added: 
    • "Karma was a galaxy-spanning civilization dedicated to pacifism and personal enlightenment, unceremoniously erased from reality and reborn as a star-consuming horror. Devouring entire galactic systems, she enforces a dread order upon the cosmos, meditating in the vast oceans of emptiness where once there were stars."
  • Store images for the team ward skins were added this cycle! Check out this album for a look at the full 38 images, or see an example of the base ward below:

Balance Changes

NOTE*: The PBE is a testing grounds for new, tentative, & experimental changes. Be aware that what you see below may be relative to other changes earlier this cycle! These are not official notes.

  • Deathbringer Stance (P) cooldown changed from [15] to [24-12 across champion level]
  • World Ender (R) Healing bonus changed from [all incoming healing] to [self healing only]

  • Volley (W) cooldown lowered from 15/12.5/10/7.5/5 to 14/11.5/9/6.5/4

  • Base AD increased from 58 to 60

  • Flawless Duet (E) cooldown increased from 14/13/12/11/10 to 18/17/16/15/14

  • Inner Flame (Q) slow potency increased from 25% to 35%
  • Inspire (E)
    • Movespeed duration increased from 1.5 to 2.5
    • Mana cost lowered from 60/65/70/75/80 to 50/55/60/65/70

  • Help, Pix! (E) 
    • shield increased from 70/105/140/175/210 to 80/115/150/185/220
    • mana cost lowered from 60/70/80/90/100 to 60/65/70/75/80

  • Dredge Line (Q) damage lowered from 100/145/190/235/280 to 80/130/180/230/280

  • Kingslayer (W) 
    • Heal lowered from 70/95/120/145/170 to 70/90/110/130/150
      • Vs Live: from 60/80/100/120/140 to 70/90/110/130/150
    • Heal AP ratio increased from 40% to 50%
  • Abscond / Abduct (E) 
    • Shield value lowered from 80/120/160/200/240 to 80/115/150/185/220
      • Vs Live: from 60/90/120/150/180 to 80/115/150/185/220
    • Shield AP ratio increased from 90% to 100%
    • Cooldown increased from 18/16/14/12/10 to 18/17/16/15/14

  • Base HP increased from 432.36 to 480
  • Bop N' Block (Passive) 
    • mana refund lowered from [40 - 160] to [30-160]
    • shield AP ratio lowered from 40% to 30%
  • You and Me (W)
    • "Enemies now gain an assist on Yuumi when damaging her attached ally. This will prevent things like execute while safely attached."
    • "Dash is now interrupted by ANY immobilizing CC (Same as Yasuo E now)"
    • Adaptive share changed from [5/9/13/17/21%] to [5/7/9/11/13 (+4/7/1013/16%)]

  • Unstable Matter (W) damage increased from 15/30/45/60/75 to 25/40/55/70/85
  • Lets Bounce (R)
    • Knockback changed from [400 units from Zac's center] to [250 units from target]
      •  "anyone who gets hit, goes 250 units away from Zac"
    • Now drops max 1 blob per bounce if you hit

Corrupting Potion
[Changelist - Expect more iteration on this!]
  • Bonus magic damage over 3 seconds changed from [15 - 30 based on level] to [20 at all levels]
  • Charges lowered from 3 to 2
  • Healing over the duration changed from 125 to 150
    • Total from 375 to 300
  • Mana over the duration changed from 75 to 125
    • Total from 225 to 250
  • Duration of regeneration from one charge increased from 12s to 15s

Context & Notes

1) Riot Repertoir provided a changelist for Aatrox in today's update:
Looks like we're going to keep the Revive around for now on Aatrox and just go with a couple of more general nerfs. We'll keep it in the idea bank as learn more about what a tolerable resting win rate for him is on this version. Probably doing something like this for 9.12:

2) Riot Sotere provided changelists for a few champions in today's update:
"Initial pass on some of my tickets (very rough, obviously) for 9.12:
Ashe :: Volley CD down from 15-5 >>> 14-4
Lulu :: E shield value up 10 at all ranks, Mana cost down from
60-100 >>> 60-80
Irelia :: Base MR from 32 >>> 26"
As well as a changelist for Corrupting Potion:
"Testing out a different tactic for Corrupting Potion sustain down / nerf task. Bit more exploratory but may find wins:"
He added:
[1] Corrupting Potion changes were a bit too optimistic given my timeline. Cool things I saw: increased pressure to use the duration to poke enemies with the burn. Downsides: most everything else.
[2] Yes. Will be a simpler change.
3) Captain Gameplay provided a changelist for Caitlyn in today's update:
"Considering buffs for Caitlyn. Looking for at most +1% winrate since she's quite close. Debating between simple: +2AD (moderate and reliable impact), or spicier like E Slow amount or R Damage. Want to avoid Pro bias buff since she dominates metas. Probably +2AD :^)"
He also provided a changelist for Yuumi:
"Yuubi changes. She seems to be on the pretty extreme end for snowball and mastery (currently seeing +16% winrate growth over 50 games lul). Also has some arcane Cut Down tech that is just a bit way too much better than anything else - which we are gonna nerf by upping her HP..."

4) Riot Jatt provided a changelist for Karma in today's update:
"Early direction for Karma -- small buffs to un-empowered Q and E
Q slow 25% >>> 35%
E movespeed 1.5s >>> 2.5s (match shield duration)
E mana cost 60/65/70/75/80 >>> 50/55/60/65/70"
He also provided a changelist for Nautilus:
"Looking at a fairly small nerf to Nautilus support. Logic being that his early all in is just too much damage and is leading to a lot of snowballed lanes 
Q damage 100/145/190/235/280 >>> 80/130/180/230/280 
(keep in mind all these tweets are tentative, and not guaranteed to ship)"
As well as Zac:
"Zac -- tentative buffs
W base damage 15/30/45/60/75 >>> 25/40/55/70/85
R Knockback (should be more like old-old Zac)
400 unites from Zac's center >>> 250 units from target (anyone who gets hit, goes 250 units away from Zac)
R blobs Now drops max 1 blob per bounce if you hit"
