4/6 PBE Update: MSI 2018 Summoner Icons

The PBE has been updated! As we continue the 8.8 PBE cycle, today's patch includes new MSI 2018 summoner icons and more tentative balance changes!

MSI 2018 Summoner Icons

Several new MSI esports icons were added in today's PBE update! [Note: Only the teams who qualify for MSI will have their icons available for purchase.]

    
     
     
    
    
    
    
    
   

Miscellaneous 

  • 2018 MSI loot capsule asset and description added:
    • "Get four 750+ RP skin shards, one of which is guaranteed to be an esports shard. Gemstone and Gemstone Skin drop rate multiplied by 1.5. No key required."

  • Badlands Baron Rumble Chroma spotlight from SkinSpotlights:


Balance Changes

NOTE*: The PBE is a testing grounds for new, tentative, & experimental changes. Be aware that what you see below may be relative to other changes earlier this cycle! These are not official notes.

Champions
Kai'Sa

  • Base HP Regen lowered from 1.24 to 1.1
  • HP Regen growth lowered from .15 to .11


LeBlanc
[LeBlanc has extensive changes testing on the PBE!]
  • Ability icons for Passive and R moved/changed back to pre-rework icons:

Sion
  • Decimating Smash (Q) 
    • minimum damage increased from 20/40/60/80/100 to 30/48/65/83/100
    • minimum damage AD ratio changed from 65% at all ranks to 40/45/50/55/60%
    • maximum damage increased from 60/120/180/240/300 to 90/143/195/248/300

Tahm Kench
[Tahm Kench has other changes in testing on the PBE!]
  • Thick Skin (E) active's damage converted into gray health reverted from 80/85/90/95/100% to 70/75/80/85/90%

Varus
[Varus has extensive changes in testing for his W on the PBE!]
  • Blighted Quiver (W)
    • Passive damage increased from 4/8/12/16/20 to 5/9/13/17/21
      • Vs. Live: 10/14/18/22/26 to 5/9/13/17/21

Vi
[Vi has other changes in testing on the PBE!]
  • Denting Blows (W) attack speed increased from 15/25/35/45/55% to 20/30/40/50/60%
    • Vs Live: 30/35/40/45/50% to 20/30/40/50/60%

Context & Notes

1) Maple Nectar noted some more possible changes coming for Nautilus this cycle:
"Hey man, adding additional damage to monsters or minions is something that we generally try to avoid if we can. That's not to say that we don't use it ever, but it's usually when we don't have another option. I totally agree that adding percent bonus damage to monsters is an easy way to accomplish a goal of "let Nautilus jungle", but there's also something to be said about us not being overly prescriptive of who can/can't jungle through the use of this mechanic.

Personally I've gone back and forth on this quite a bit, at times I feel really strongly we should just do a pass on champs to put them in the jungle by adding bonus damage to monsters, but then other times I do agree with the argument that it's kind of a sloppy way of doing so, and sets us up for problems down the road. Not to mention the fact that Nautilus is currently struggling across the board, not just in the jungle, and some sort of signalling that's just "he's better in the jungle but no where else...sorry laners" is kinda shitty. That being said, we're currently looking at adding another line to this changelist that "should" be skew more heavily towards the jungle - likely early base shield on W or early bonus attack speed to help out with his early clear. Either of those changes will also obviously help out top and support, but should disproportionately aid his jungle clearing."
