Even though the LCS doesn't start up for another week, we've got a plenty eSports news to tide you over!

Competitions

  • [NA/EU] The 2014 LCS season will start on Jan 14th for EU and Jan 17th for NA!


  • [NA] Riot Jaws announced that they will be holding a collegiate tournament this year in conjunction with IvyLoL and NACL. The brackets registration opens January 6th so be sure to form your team and sign up! More information can be found over on Reddit

Team News & Roster Changes


  • [NA] Determined Gaming (Previously To Be Determined) announced that they would be parting ways with their current mid laner Arthelon and picking up pr0lly. In addition, the team had a slew of management changes and other updates can be found over on the reddit thread

  • [NA] vVv Gaming split their original team in two and picked up a second team. Though the final names are still up in the air, their rosters are full of talent. Check out the reddit thread to find full rosters and more information.

  • [NA] CLG encountered more issues this week in the form of Dexter's visa being denied  (a week before LCS begins too). Not a lot of news about this, but you can check his twitter for more information as it comes out. 

  • [NA] The Walking Zed announced that they would be parting ways with their current AD Carry bobbyhankhill and picking up Altec

  • [EU] The current roster of Team Alternate (including kev1n, Araneae, Kerp, Creaton, Metalx, and Jree) announced they would be leaving the organization via twitter. They will retain the LCS position and reformed under the Millenium organization. 

  • [EU] Cloud9 picked up a European challenger team consisting of Voidle, K0u, Odoamne, Febiven, and (try saying this three times fast) HjÀrnanbakomallt. Full announcement can be found over on Cloud9's facebook page

  • [EU] Ocelote and Nyph announced their departure from the SK Gaming organization. Nyph will be joining Alliance while Ocelote's future is undetermined.
