Pulsefire 2020 Event: Learn More

The Pulsefire 2020 event is coming with Patch 10.10 on May 14th! Check out the support site article for all the details on new skins & chromas, missions, rewards, loot and more:
"Dystopian futures? Chrono-enforcing temporal police?! And they said time travel was supposed to be easy! When the going gets tough, the tough suit up with cybernetic enhancements and a penchant for technological know-how. Are you going to protect the delicate machinations of time and space... or shake things up a bit? Pulsefire 2020 is ready to leave its mark on League of Legends.
Pulsefire makes its debut on May 14th, 2020 at 13:00 PM (PT), ending on June 15th, 2020 at 23:59 PM (PT). While new missions will no longer be available after the 15th, don't worry. You'll have until June 30th, 2020 13:00 PM (PT) to spend all those timely Tokens.
Pulsefire Passes
Pulsefire will be coming with not one, but two different ways to make the most of the event. First, there's the Pulsefire Pass for 1650 RP. It comes with 200 Pulsefire Tokens and 4 Pulsefire Orbs.
If that's not enough, we're also offering a Pulsefire Pass Bundle for 2650 RP. Aside from all the items mentioned above, this Bundle also includes Pulsefire Lucian. The Purifier will be hunting down Chrono Fugitives, complete with a special icon and border!
You can purchase both the Event Pass and the Bundle throughout the duration of the event.
WOAH, THERE!
Before you get going on your time-traveling, adventures, remember there's no double-dipping in the timeline. Buying a Pass doesn't mean you get extra tokens and orbs if you buy the Bundle!
Missions
Thanks to some Chrono-ingenuity, time is on your side... at least until the event ends! You'll have access to a variety of missions, both with the Pulsefire Pass and without, so there's no shortage of temporal tasks for you to complete. Just be sure not to make any paradoxes while you're at it, okay?
MILESTONE MISSIONS (PASS REQUIRED)
These missions become accessible with the Pulsefire Pass. Remember, you'll need to complete each Milestone before moving onto the next!
TOKEN MISSIONS (PASS REQUIRED)
PLAYING GAMES
WEEKLY WIN MISSIONS
Wondering how to score points in towards your Weekly Wins? Everytime you win in Summoner's Rift, ARAM, or Pick URF, you'll earn 5 points. Don't worry, though! Even if you're on the losing team one match, you'll still earn 2 points, so really it's a win-win!
PULSEFIRE MISSIONS

ORB MISSION
Orb missions are unlike the other Pulsefire Missions in that they aren't linked to any of the other missions. Just simply play 30 matchmade games and reap the sweet rewards.

Riot Xenogenic noted the article went out with errors, and has since been corrected:
"Hey folks - there were a number of errors in that PS article. The quick reason for that is: an early version of the article without final edits and additions is what ultimately went out instead of the final one. Sorry for the confusion
To clarify:
The free missions still have a mission that grants 60 tokens and an orb. The total tokens available from free missions is still 300"

Miscellaneous

  • Riot IAmWalrus commented on discrepancy on EUW high MMR matchmaking and noted it would be corrected:
"Interesting analysis! I have some more detailed takeaways, but here is a quick TL;DR:
EUW did have a configuration difference that was optimizing for faster matches at higher MMR for a little looser matchmaking. The actual Match Quality is way closer when measuring by the metrics we actually use to make games (not LP), but there's some room for improvement so we're going to shift it to be closer in line to other regions.
- First, cool idea and thanks for bringing this stuff up!
- So as you know, we don't match on LP, we match on MMR. The two numbers correlate pretty well up at the top of the ladder, but there's a lot of ways it can differ from region to region. So while the numbers can look pretty jarring here, they're much closer in reality. For example, looking at only players with Master or higher MMR, the 90th percentile of worst games still had both teams within ~1 win's MMR of each other in all regions. Differences between teammates were also extremely similar across all regions.
- EUW was configured slightly differently because of some changes from back when Position Ranks came out in NA and KR
- The reason basing this analysis on visible rank makes the problem look a little worse is that it assumes all Master/GM/Challenger players are a uniform skill distribution across all regions. In some regions, the ladder is very top heavy, with the best players having a fairly sizable lead. Some regions are middle heavy, with some outliers on the high side taking the Challenger spots. So one GM player may be substantially different than another GM player, MMR-wise, and averaging out based on tier can make a match look worse than it is.
- While LP and MMR correlate pretty well at the top of the ladder for accounts with a lot of games, this is less true for newer accounts. A Diamond I player with a lower game count may be actually a Diamond I player, or a Challenger player still on their climb. Some regions have higher incidences of multiple accounts, and that can make any kind of LP-based matchmaking analysis a bit misleading.
I don't want to let those quibbles take away from how useful this was, though, so thanks again!"
"Senna's passive should finally be pingable next patch."

Other Games

"Hope you’ve been enjoying Rising Tides and Bilgewater! Patch 1.1 is a small one focused on tidying up bugs and issues we’ve seen since launch. We’ve also got info on upcoming adjustments to how we roll out new patches.
To allow time for the meta to shake out a little further (and for us to factor live play data into our work), we’ll be deploying the first post-Rising Tides balance changes in patch 1.2. Our normal monthly balance cadence will then proceed from there, so the next changes will be in patch 1.4. We’ve also heard your feedback regarding various cases of rules text inconsistencies or clarity issues on Rising Tides cards, and will be including a bunch of improvements in patch 1.2."

Reminders

  • The FPX skins are now in the store and will be available until June 11th!
  • The Blue Essence shop is available from now until May 13th!
