    1. look at thses babies, ive seen harsher nerfs on less OP champions still hold on in competitive play. For a champion 60% win rate at platinum elo this is a slap on the wrists.

    2. 60% is a bit low, isn't it :p She was more like 70-80...

    3. 55% is what you can expect from the best tournament level picks and bans. 60% is already outrageous i dont even want to think about 70-80%

    4. Nothing is outrageous besides Taric in his armor of the 5th age ;) Pink hammertime go!

Also she's still very viable btw. You just have to think what you want to do now - a shame she's no longer faceroll instawin. /sarcasm end

    5. Laned against a Zyra yesterday. Draft normal, had 3 level 30 friends, and I am level 21. I was even playing my main, Ahri.

'Twas my first time laning against Zyra and she DOMINATED ME. She still deals damage like a fed AD, still is slightly tankier than an underfed Ahri. I was able to dodge her ult once or twice by spamming ALL my many Flashes, but to no avail; she had 5+ kills on me alone by the 20 minutes that we surrendered on. She had over 15 kills by 20. She is more overpowered than Darius pre-nerfs! NERF NERF NERF NOW!

    6. Poor babby is mad his foxxypuu isn't able to stand against the "ohsopowerfuu" vine lady, maybe you just aren't as good as your ego leads you to believe. I'd give up now surrender lolol

  3. that sure was a fun 2 weeks of zyra. thanks riot! release new champ, let her be slightly OP so people are convinced to purchase champ, nerf her to the ground. rinse, wash, repeat.

    1. so they did this with

      jayce
      draven
      varus
      hecarim
      fiora
      sejuani
      viktor
      etc etc etc

oh wait thats none of those champs are Op, i thought you said they did this all the time? Get a grip you sound like an idiot, most new champs are "meh" tier when released OP releases are a rarity and are quickly stamped out.

    2. I bought Zyra AFTER the nerfs and I LOVE her. She still deals a lot of damage, i can't compare the ms from before and the nerf on the range of the ulti is justified because before that you couldn't reach her at all (i played against other zyras before the nerfs). The nerfs just mean that now you have to be more careful what you do.

    1. Darius is not only not nerfed to unplayability, but is actually a perfectly valid champ. And he is fairly new.

  5. maybe you should blame the PBE, where everyone was saying she was underpowered, so she entered release with a buff over an already strong kit

  6. Its amazing how they nerf all the new-champs only because the whiners dunno how to counter them, and the old op champs still are op, at least alistar got in line with the rest finally, so happy about that.

    1. Old champs OP? Tell me one person who thinks Tristana, Cho'Gath, or Kayle are OP? They are some of the oldest there are and completely inviable. Now look at Darius: either picked or banned in almost every draft game, ranked or normal.

      Delete
    2. To be fair Kayle is pretty stronk toplane. She just doesn't have an escape or other stuff the newer ones have - You'll always pick the best in top plays even if others are still good.

Same goes for Tristana. She has the !best! ad steroid, best range lategame, escape and peal ult. However her abilities are scripted in an old way so she needs some QoL love. If she'd get help there she'd be toppick.

And just for the honor I enjoy jungling Cho D:< He might not be the best or fastest jungler but his ganks are sick. Most funny moments: Rupture from bush into bush when the enemies want to facecheck or juke. Not seeing it makes it impossible to dodge.

  7. Hecarim has only seen buffs and fixes thus far and he is only a few months old.

    1. Hecarim is not that played, at least i haven't seen him in ages except now that he is on rotation, but maybe after this week they will ask for nerf too on him cause he is extremly powerful and op if you know how to play him... (like all the champs in league, but the noobs dont know it yet)

  8. It is fun to read all of you who cant see if a champion has too much dmg. Zyra was obviously overpowered though her nerf is a bit much. She definately needed a nerf, but the one riot have cursed upon her is too big.

Also atm all champions in LoL is viable for competitive play except for maybe Twitch and Sejuani. This means that the game is close to perfect - ofc there is always grafical errors etc. saying that improvements always can be made.

    1. ... What? How is every single one viable? That is an outright lie. Have you ever seen a Tristana or Cho'Gath at a professional game?

    2. Hotshot has played Cho.

  9. wow I just played the new Zyra and for the first time, I am really pissed. Basically, I bought a fun, FAST new champ, with some unique abilities and burst... Right now, I have a new Orianna skin, with not 1, but 2 Balls... Awesome! Well, then, why shouldn't I just stick to Orianna then? Riot have a total FAIL with this nurf! Adjust her damage, god dammit, why screw up her speed as well? Even her attack speed is slower! I love Orianna, but one of them is enough!
Sorry to say that but unless they fix this disaster, for me, it's RIP Zyra, welcome back dear Orianna!

  10. Where did it say to buy the champion the second they're released? Unless you're new to the game itself, you should know that this is going to happen most of the time.

  11. all these people complaining about nerfs must never watch competitive games, watching the same champs banned every game is a sign something is wrong, and when riot does the right thing and nerfs them the bads cry their free elo is gone what a joke.

Maybe i just dont feel thier pain, the jungle has the largest pool of competitive viable picks so if one moves up or down I hardly notice.

  12. Okay, I get everyone has an opinion, but I did try to like the "new" Zyra... Been playing her since yesterday and, sorry, but I really don't see anything fun about her anymore. She has no burst, no speed, no personality, nothing... What's the point of playing her anymore, when you can take someone much more interesting, like Vikor, Xerath, or Ahri?
Plus, she was out 2 weeks... Of course she got banned on tournaments, no one actually knew how to counter her. I'm just angry I spent any RP on her, she's not worth having, and having a skin... That's just sad.
Anyway, sorry for ranting, but I don't play bruisers, so I hadn't had a new champ for a long time, with Darius and Jayce and staff, and now Zyra is horrible, so... Back to Lux and Orianna. Diana's fun, but I'm giving her just as much life... Then she'll be support as well.
Now they just have to ruin my Karma and I can officially quit this game.
Rant over, ha ha Sorry for the length!

    1. Let me just point out that: She's just as viable as before, just because you can't run around and get doubles and triples anymore you immediately call her useless? I'm sorry that you can't get handed wins on a silver platter anymore and that you have to work for your victories, but that's how a game works. ;D

To everyone in this thread complaining, grow up. She had ridiculous mobility and burst, while also being able to stand back and kill everyone without ever being touched. You guys don't want to accept this because you lost the ability to smirk as you got another ace in game due to an overpowered champion.

Basically: Learn to play and be good without someone that's overpowered.

    2. Man, you are actually right! I was looking at her all wrong, trying to use to same build that worked before the nerf, but wasn't viable anymore! Long story short, change the build, get boots of mobility, I like my Zyra fast, sorry, and, yes, she works, so... My bad, started criticizing too early! By the way, I don't know what's with the whole "Ace" Zyra thing... Unless everyone in yours or the other team is a total noob, she wasn't THAT strong. At least, I never saw a Zyra do that. Anyway, cheers, my good fellow!

      Delete
    3. Join the convince-train to get Riot to do some ap-movement items like zeal/pd and you might even skip boots of mobility later on :p

      Delete
    4. Yes, I was thinking the same, why are there no AP mobility items, besides Lich Bane? Fast mages are actually fun! :-D

      Delete
    5. Because if you give Ahri any more mobility beyond her 4 flashes + good movespeed... I'd never be hit by a skillshot again ;D

      Delete
    6. You sacrifice damage or other side effects then. Or defensive stats. As long as they'd be balanced pricewise and statwise it shoudln't be an issue. And luckily enough Xyph is working on items atm. Xyph's work is amazing ^^

    7. I have been playing Zyra in PBE way b4 she was released and have seen the changes they have done to her in Riot's balancing phase and when they finally buffed and released Zyra I played my first non-PBE game with Zyra and got a penta in the first game. I didn't think she was OP because she would still get countered by certain champs. Aside from that I was extremely annoyed to find out she had been nerfed in the 8th Aug hotfix but still I tried to play her and I can honestly say I don't notice a difference. Her Q hasn't been nerfed so her poke is that same only that her plants do slightly less damage and ult and E nerfs I didn't notice at all. I was even laning against morde which isn't easy. As the end of the game on of my teammates got a kill we went to nexus 3v4 ( one of my teamates was pushing another lane ) and everyone focus our fed varus and I did my whole combo getting a triple and then quadra with my passive.

Conclusion: Not that different to pre-nerf

  13. I instabought zyra cause i loved her since the beggining, and I understand she needed some nerfs. But havent they gone too far?
They nerfed EVERYTHING, not just the burst. She's more slow, less bursty and lost a lot of survability, they should at least put back her mov speed :/

    1. Fact is she has a huge zone control and range. You never give high mobility and control or you end up with a champ who can't be catched. Just look at release Orianna. Sacrafice something for the zone or it's an op champ.

      Delete
    2. The zone control and the range are just terrifying. I main Ahri and she absolutely annihilates me; I can't even get CLOSE to the fight to get farm! And her ult is practically undodgeable to a normal champ! (Ahri of course has up to 4 flashes if you play her right, though)

  14. Zyra is still on the powerful side even after the original nerfs.

    Reference: http://www.lolking.net/champions/zyra&region=na&league=platinum#statistics

While no-where near the original faceroll levels as before among NA platinum players, (as that is the region I'm in)

Getting as high as 65% (at her peak, pre-nerf) is very high in comparison to the lowest win rates of the month among the same demographic with evelynn being half of that success currently, (not necessarily at the same time)

    Reference: http://www.lolking.net/charts?region=na&league=platinum&type=champion-loserate&range=monthly\

After the nerfs she dropped to about 55% win ratio, making her still a strong champion as a blanket rule.

While the nerfs might be required, I honestly think that they may be a bit overkill. She only needs slight tweaking not a punch to the viability.
