4.8 PBE Cycle

( With the release of patch 4.7 on  May 8th, we started the new 4.8 PBE cycle )

Below you will find a comprehensive list of balance changes/game additions for the current PBE cycle.
These new changes and additions are relative to what things currently are on live servers and are


(They often do not represent the final changes that get pushed to live servers.)

    New Skin: River Spirit Nami

    Before we dive in, here's Riot Nurse Flan with a PBE feedback thread for River Spirit Nami:
    "Hello Summoners! River Spirit Nami is making a splash in the PBE! o u o

    Nami has been transformed into a beautiful River Spirit! In particular, she has:
    • A new look!
    • New particles on her abilities (fancy little lights!)
    • New recall animation (and she sings!)
    • New side-fins on her tail (all the better to swim, my dear!)
    As players who get the first look at this in-progress skin, it would be wonderful to hear your thoughts and feelings on this fancy fish! The feedback and bugs you leave here will help us get a better idea of things we may still have to take a look at. :]

    One for All: Mirror Mode enabled on PBE!

    Here's Brackhar with more info on our next featured gameplay mode, One for All: Mirror Mode!
    "Hi everyone! 
    When we first released One For All, a lot of players said this would be a fun mode to try with 10 of the same champion on Howling Abyss. Well, we heard you and we agree! 
    The next Featured Game Mode, One For All: Mirror Mode, is up for testing on PBE!
    For this iteration, we made a few tweaks to the champion select process. Champ select is now determined by nominations aggregated across both teams and a vote tracker shows the nominated champions. If a strict majority is achieved (>50% of picks, excluding abstains), that champion is assigned to everyone. If not, the champion is picked based on a weighted random across all of the champion nominations – for example, if 4 people vote for Amumu, 3 vote for Annie, 2 vote for Aatrox, and 1 person votes for Alistar, there’s a 40% chance everyone will be Amumu, a 30% chance you'll all play as Annie, a 20% chance to face off as Aatrox, etc. 
    One feature we’ve added to One For All: Mirror Mode is the ability to purchase a Battle Boost for your team during champ select. If you purchase one, you'll unlock all available skins for yourself and your team for that match as well as a one game team IP boost. (Ever wonder how many different Teemo mushrooms there are? ) 
    Hop in the queue and give this community-inspired variant of One For All a try. As always, let us know if you find any issues or problems and tell us what you think!"
    On reddit, Brackhar reminded:
    "Just to remind peeps here, Mirror Mode is also on Howling Abyss, not Summoner's Rift."
    He continued, noting it is still available for other maps via custom games:
    "The queue is for Howling Abyss. You'll be able to play the mode on any map via custom games."

    When asked if the "Battle Boost" stacks and the price, he replied:
    "No, they can't stack. I believe the price we're testing on PBE right now is 150RP."

    Udyr also chimed in, noting the boosts are a flat amount regardless of win or loss:
    "It's a flat amount, regardless of win or loss I believe"

    Here's a view pictures of the One for All: Mirror Mode lobby:
    Voting into the champion selection lottery - split between both teams.
    Option for unlocking the mode exclusive Battle Boost is at the top.
    After unlocked, top of screen says who purchased it and all skins for selected champion are unlocked FOR ONE GAME. For the record, the sound mentioned in the 5/8 post plays when someone unlocks the boost.

    Udyr E Stun Cooldown Indicator

     Udyr's Bear Stance ( E ) stun now has a circle indicator to show when his target can be stunned again, just like Braum's passive or Yasuo's E.
    ( Only UDYR can see the circle, allies and enemies can not )
    In case you don't know, Udyr's Bear Stance Stun ( E ) can not reoccur on the same target within 5 seconds. With this change, a small circle ( different colors depending on skin ) appears and counts down until that target can be stunned again.
    Spirit Guard Udyr has a different color indicator.

    Dragonslayer Jarvan IV name change.

    "Dragon Slayer Jarvan IV" renamed to  "Dragonslayer Jarvan IV", which matches the names of the other Dragonslayer skins.

    New Summoner Icon

    This build also includes two new summoner icons! No details on availability. 


    4.8 Team Builder Bug / Changes thread.

    Here's Riot Blackrook with info on bug fixes and changes planned for Team Builder in patch 4.8:
    "Hey all you PBE Team Builders,

    For 4.8 we have a couple of updates for Team Builder that need some PBE testing. Check these out and post a comment here if you spot any bugs. Be sure to post reproduction steps so we can check it out and narrow down the cause of any bugs.
    1. The unranked "Classic 5v5" Wins counter in your Summoner Profile should now include all the wins you've accrued using Team Builder.
    2. Captains can now grant invite privileges to buddies they invite to Team Builder (just like in normal pre-champ-select lobbies)
    We have some more improvements we're working on for 4.8 and I'll update this thread when they are available for testing.



    EDIT: Team Builder is available from 1-5pm PST on Monday/Wednesday and from 6am-10am PST on Tuesday/Thursday."

    Friends List Changes

    Here's Mixtli with more info on a few Friends List changes currently up on the PBE for testing:
    "Yes as Riot Aotus stated, the Social Features Team is adding a variety of small features to the Friends List. 
    On PBE:
    You can now search for specific Friends by typing in their Summoner Name at the top of your Friends List. 
    Updating your custom status and sorting your friends have now moved to within a menu at the top of your Friends List. 
    Sorting Friends Setting is now saved client side specific per Summoner. You no longer have to change it to “By Name” every time you log in."

    Balance Changes

    * Remember *: The PBE is a testing grounds for new, tentative, and sometimes radical changes. The changes you see below may be lacking context or other accompanying changes that didn't make it in - don't freak out! These are not official notes.

    [Context: Besides Soraka, these buffs are "modernize" changes mentioned in the 4.8 patch forecast ]

      • Rocket Grab ( Q ) mana cost lowered to 100 at all ranks from 120
      • Static Field ( R ) mana cost lowered to 100 at all ranks from 150

      • Feast ( R ) cast ranged increased to 175 from 150
      • Feast ( R ) [ cast time appears to be lowered to .25 from .5 ]

      • Nether Grasp ( R ) mana cost lowered to 100 at all ranks from 150 at all ranks.

      • Starcall ( Q ) damage lowered to 50/75/100/125/150 40/65/90/115/140 from 60/95/130/165/200
      • [Context: Second patch lowered the values to 40/65/90/115/140 from 50/75/100/125/150 ] 
      • Starcall ( Q ) Astral Blessing Cooldown reduction on champion hit increased to  5/8/11/14/17% 5/7.5/10/12.5/15 from 5/6.5/7.5/8.75/10
      • [Conext: Second patch lowered the values to 5/7.5/10/12.5/15% from 5/8/11/14/17% 
      • Infuse ( E ) tooltip now states enemy cast costs 50 mana.
      • Rapid Fire ( Q ) cooldown lowered to 16 from 20 at all ranks Reverted


      Twin Shadows ( Dominion & TTL version )
      • Now lists "Unique Passive: Trap Detection: Nearby stealthed enemy traps are revealed.
