Quick Gameplay Thoughts: October 25

Check out Meddler's quick gameplay thoughts for October 25th, including thoughts on bringin back older TFT sets, climbing from low honor, and more:
"Hi folks,
Usual Disclaimers
These posts will often contain talk about future work we're doing, or planning to do, that isn't yet guaranteed to ship. The nature of the work could change or, depending on what we discover, projects mentioned may get delayed or even stopped. If you'd like to see a Tweet whenever a new one of these posts goes up: https://twitter.com/RiotMeddler
Bringing back older TFT sets
TFT: Rise of the Elements is on the PBE now and should go live in a couple of weeks. When it does so it will replace the initial set of TFT champions/traits. It likely won't be the last time you'll ever get a chance to play that original launch set though. Our plan is to bring older Sets back occasionally, potentially for things like a weekend tournament or as a change of pace for a couple of weeks as an alternative queue. We don't have an exact plan on that yet, but are working to make sure it's technically possible right now. Likely approach would be that old Sets returning would bring Champions, Traits, Spatula items and set specific rules (e.g. Elemental Hexes from set 2) back with them. Updates to the fundamental game rules that have been made since by contrast will remain consistent across sets. That means whenever Set 1 returns for example it would do so on the larger board but wouldn't have Elemental Hexes.
Frequency of new TFT sets
On a related note another thing we're putting a lot of focus on right now is figuring out how frequently we should be swapping in a new TFT set. We want to find the sweet spot between things getting too stale and things changing too rapidly to be fun. We suspect that's somewhere around the four month mark, hence the upcoming launch date for Rise of the Elements. Based off the feedback we get with Set 2 we'll then adjust the timeline for future sets as appropriate.
Climbing back up from low honor
A frustration point we see expressed sometimes is that it feels like it takes an eternity to climb back from Honor 0 to Honor 2. How long it takes to climb actually varies a lot player to player. A player who plays an average amount and is no longer getting reported more than the average LoL player should get back to Honor 2 in around a couple of months (the system has some minimums in place for both time passed and number of games played). Some players with similar engagement patterns progress a lot slower though. When that's the case it's because the player in question is still getting significantly more legitimate reports than average, substantially slowing their climb back to higher Honor levels.
Preseason Jungle Tuning on PBE
As you might have seen yesterday we're testing out some potential further changes to jungle XP on the PBE at present. Those involve less XP per camp and faster camp respawns, with the intent being to relieve excessive pressure to gank constantly to succeed. Conceptually we're optimistic on the changes and they're something a lot of junglers have expressed desire for. We're still thinking of them as somewhat experimental right now since they've just gone into testing, but are looking to validate them over the coming week and increase confidence in them.
Individual Champion Balance in Preseason
Our plan for preseason is to see where the various systems changes land and then balance as needs be in response to them, rather than preemptively trying to adjust champion balance off predicted impact. Preemptive changes historically have had a pretty mixed success rate (e.g. Ahri getting substantially overbuffed in response to DFG's removal). That means we won't be making changes to Ezreal for example without seeing how Klepto's removal affects him or to tank supports until the impact of the Targon's changes is clear. We will prep some possible responses ahead of time so we've got them ready to go quickly if needed though."

Senna Community Kit

Here's Riot Swimbananas with a community kit for Senna and Lucian, with a ton of assets, including her full voiceover:
"Now that Senna has returned, we wanted to make sure you had everything you needed to celebrate League’s newest champion. So, to help, we’ve collected a ton of assets! In-game turnarounds, music files for her new theme, and the 3D file for her new weapon are all ready to inspire you!
Turnarounds
Want to know what’s going on under her cape? Curious what exactly her shoes look like? Wonder no more! In addition to Senna turnarounds, we are happy to share the new cinematic Lucian turnarounds. These should kickstart all your cosplay and fanart ideas. Download them directly here
Music
Senna has not only her in-client theme, but also the music from her cinematic reappearance. We are happy to share music files, as well as her voiceover lines to make all your video edits and music covers that much easier.
3D Model
For the first time ever, we’re happy to provide the 3D model of her railgun. Now you can get into all the nitty gritty details, and even 3D print it so you can carry around a weapon way, way too big for yourself. Download it directly here, but be warned, it's a BEEFY file! 6 gigs worth of 3D Senna gun goodness!
High Resolution Art
Nothing quite shows off your passion like covering all your computer screens in your favorite champion splash art. Download Senna’s splash, several high resolution images from the cinematic, as well images as of the Shadow Isles and Lucian right here
And that’s it! Thank you for helping us celebrate Senna’s launch. Just make sure you tag League of Legends on social so we can see what you create."

TFT: New Arena Skins

Here's Riot Beernana with details on new TFT arena skins that are now testing on the PBE:
"In the quest to continue expanding the number of ways you can personalize your Teamfight Tactics experience, we created three new Freljord-themed arena skins. These skins distinctly represent the factions from the coldest region in Runeterra: Avarosa, Winter's Claw, Frostguard.
To get a sense of what they entail, we figured a picture is worth a thousand words, so here's three thousand words:
Avarosa
Winter's Claw
Frostguard
These skins come with some serious modifications to your arena that are visible to you and your opponents that come visit. Note that in addition to the new frozen geography and lighting. The gold indicators have also been reworked with new models, colors, animations, and SFX!
We started with the Freljord since it’s an area of Runeterra we know pretty well, and we wanted to test what it takes to actually build a skin like this. If the Freljord thematic doesn’t strike your fancy, never fear! We’ve got tons of additional arenas planned both inside and outside of Runeterra. To give you an idea of what we’re thinking, I want to share some very early concepts to show what future arena skins could look like. Note that final execution can and will look far different from the concepts.

Like champion skins on Summoner's Rift, the Freljord arenas will be available for purchase in the store. If you have a favorite, one arena will cost 1380 RP or, if Freljord is really your thing, you can purchase all three for 2900 RP.
Additionally we're going to sell a few arena chromas. Specifically, the Arrowhead, Verdant, and Runic Arena's will be available for 450 RP each.
The set is going to PBE today and should be available on patch 9.22."

10 Years of Riot Music

Here's Riot Ashekandi with a post on 10 years of League music:
It’s amazing to think that we’re finally here after 10 years, and for music, it’s really only our first few steps. With all that you’ve seen over the past couple weeks, we wanted to take the chance to share what we have coming for Riot Music over the next few weeks and months!
In case you missed it, two weeks ago on October 8, we released the 2019 World’s Anthem, Phoenix, ft. Cailin Russo and Chrissy Castanza. Check it out and let us know what you think!

As part of the League of Legends 10 Year Anniversary Celebration on October 15, we announced a new collaboration with community artists such as Albert Chang, TJ Brown, Nicki Taylor, and Lunity and unveiled Riot’s first vinyl in collaboration with iam8bit, celebrating 10 years of League of Legends music. The vinyl features 26 orchestral works, including champion, regional, and competitive tracks such as Nami and Freljord. You can grab your own copy from iam8bit here
Last we also unveiled the release of nearly our entire musical catalog on a variety of streaming services.
