Tournament & Scene News


  • [NA Challenger Series]  Be sure to check the comprehensive rundown of the 2015 NA Challenger Series! The series kicked off  earlier  this week with Team Fusion, Final Five, Enemy eSports, TDK, CLG Black, and TSM Darkness competing for cash prizes and a chance to earn an LCS spot at the end of the current split. Riot will be hosting a dedicated CS broadcast every Wednesday, including  a set of matches for each region, a recap of Tuesday's unbroadcasted matches, interviews, analysis, and live commentated matches.  

  • [EU Challenger Series] Be sure to check the comprehensive rundown of the 2015 EU Challenger Series!  The series kicked off earlier this week with Reason Gaming, N!Faculty, SK Gaming Prime, LowLandLions White, Origen, and Nevo competing for cash prizes and a chance to earn an LCS spot at the end of the current split. Riot will be hosting a dedicated CS broadcast every Wednesday, including a set of matches for each region, a recap of Tuesday's unbroadcasted matches, interviews, analysis, and live commentated matches.  


    Team News


    North/South America:

    • Following an official investigation, Cloud9 Tempest was found to have used a ringer - someone not on their official team roster -  during the 2015 Spring Challenger Qualifiers. The following penalties were applied to the team:
      • C9T is disqualified from the Challenger Series for the Spring 2015 Split. Team Confound is awarded the game victory and wins the berth into the Challenger Series 2015 Spring Split.
      • Colin “Solo” Earnest, Anthony “Hard” Barkhovtsev, David “Yusui” Bloomquist, Benjamin “LOD” deMunck, Ritchie “Fade” Ngo, and Tim “Timokiro” Cho are suspended from all Riot-sponsored League of Legends competition until the 2015 Summer Split.
      • Danan “Kaniggit” Flander is suspended from all Riot-sponsored League of Legends competition, including the LCS and Challenger Series, until the 2015 Summer Split.
      • Cloud9 is suspended from sponsoring a Challenger team until the 2015 Summer Split.
    • Team Liquid recently announced that they would be benching Piglet and replaced with KeithmcBrief, who played ti the team in the weeks leading up to Piglet's arrival.
    • NintendudeX will be returning to Team Fusion this week after a prolonged health issue. 
    • Team Coast has brought in Mancloud as their starting midlaner midlane and moved Jesiz to a substitute position. 
    • Gravity Gaming has added Nick "LastShadow" De Ceasare as their coach.

    Europe

    • Elements recently benched Wickd and brought in Kev1n from Millenium. Be sure to check out the Wickd AMA and Kev1n's Facebook post for more context! 
    • MYM had a few shake ups this week. Jwaow will be joining the team as a top laner while Mimer has become an assistant coach.
