This week has been a just packed with eSports action! With gamescom wrapping up, we now know which three teams will be representing EU in the World Finals, as well as our international wildcard team!
 Caution: There will be spoilers after the jump! Continue reading for a recap of important eSports news, an updated reminder on who will be coming to the S3 World Championship, and more!

Season 3 World Finals:


  • Here's a breakdown of where all the teams for World Finals are coming from:
    • China - LPL Finals (2 spots)
    • Europe - (3 spots)
    • North America - determined by NA LCS playoffs at Pax 2013. (3 spots)
    • Taiwan - determined by Taiwan Regional Finals. (1 spot)
    • Southeast Asia - (1 spot)
    • Korea - Circuit Points. (3 spots)

  • Tickets for Season 3 World Finals sold out around 15,000 tickets in under an hour. If you are going, be sure to come say hello to all the Surrender @ 20 staff going there! Full article can be found over at Forbes.

  • ggLA Challenger Arena 3 began this week featuring a $1,000 dollar prize pool and featuring Denial Esports, COGnitive Gaming, Gold Gaming LA, and To Be Determined. Europe


  • Copenhagen Wolves secured a spot for the LCS Season 4 Spring Promotion Tournament by defeating KMT, AT Gaming, and TCM Gaming at Gamescom 2013.

      • Dioud, previously of against All authority, joined Millenium as a support. 

      • VandeRnoob replaced SuperAZE on KMT.

      • Insomnia49 kicked off this week - featuring teams such as Millenium, Animate eSports, and Team Dignitas UK. More information can be found on Leaguepedia.
