Upcoming Champion Leaked in LA Times article?

Posted on at 5:42 PM by Moobeat

It looks like a photo, featuring one of Riot Game's artists, for a recent Los Angeles Times article has accidentally leaked an upcoming champion.

The new champion is clearly visible on the second monitor to the left of the artist. This champ appears to be a cyber centaur, part human / part horse, of some sort, that wields a halberd / spear type weapon.

Unfortunately the article doesn't say anything like "EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PEAK AT HORSEMAN, THE NEXT CHAMPION!" and Riot hasn't announced anything as of yet, so I'll be sure to clue you in on any new details should they arise.

P.S: Personally, this guy totally looks like a sleeker, more attractive version of Pitlord to me... will we see a similar kit?

edit: For those confused, the picture above is obviously from WC3 and is not a shot of the new champion. I simple put up a picture to reenforce my thought of him looking similar to Pit lord, since not everyone may be away of what he looks like.

Some Love for Swain?

Posted on at 12:47 AM by Moobeat

Big scary bird strategists need love too! It looks like the balance team is taking a bit of a look at Swain in the next patch... now if we could only convince the art team to get Swain a new skin...
We're looking at Swain's ultimate mana cost upkeep for the next patch. Additionally, his attack frame will be getting an update so he has an easier time last hitting early on in the game.

The Great Hunt

Posted on at 12:42 AM by Moobeat

It seems that there is a new "holiday" in Runeterra. Bandle City, home to those adorable yordles, is celebrating the Great Hunt, an annual event where yordles prove their worth by hunting the most dangerous of beasts. For us summoners, the Great Hunt, for the moment at least, only translates into a few champion and skin sales. The event runs from March 20th through April 2th according to the official minisite, so who knows what could be in store?

The official page above describes the following events and dates:
  • Lulu is now available for play!
  • Between March 20-23, Teemo and his Recon skin are on sale for 50% off
  • Between March 27-30, Veigar and his Greybeard skin are 50% off.
  • Between April 2-6, Ziggs will be free to play.

You can already check out the Teemo sale, which includes sale prices for Tristana and Kennen, that started today.

In celebration, the normal Red, Blue, and Green elixirs have been cosmetically changed to mushrooms for the duration of the event.

Honestly, he event seems a little strange at the moment. The most recent and comparable Lunar Revel event came with a slew of delicious skins, while this event seems to only be made up of a few sales of older skins that frequent the normal weekly sales. The event does progress through April Fools day and I assume given Urfrider Corki last year and Urf The Manatee Warwick skin, we can expect Riot to drop another goofy skin on us.

Whether this is directly related to an upcoming part of the event or net, there was also a post on the official LoL facebook today that said "A strange villain has been threatening Bandle City, home of the yordles, but no one has yet gotten a good look at her, him, or it! Who or what hunts these half-pints, and who, if anyone, can put a stop to it?". Seems fishy!

At any rate, I'll be sure to keep you guys up today if any new information about this event is revealed.

Swain and Galio Reduced to 4800 IP!

Posted on at 11:52 PM by Moobeat

Riot is continuing to slash prices of champions, this time with a permanent reduction of 1500 to two champions, Swain and Galio!
Summoners!

In response to your feedback, we’re continuing to bring you even more value for your IP by reducing the IP prices on more of your favorite champions. This week, we’ll be slashing the IP prices of Galio and Swain.

The new IP prices for these champions are:
  • Galio, the Sentinel’s Sorrow, (normally 6300 IP) will be only 4800 IP!
  • Swain, the Master Tactician, (normally 6300 IP) will be only 4800 IP!

Whether you’re a fan of gargoyles or an exotic bird enthusiast there’s never been a better time to pick up these fantastic champions! Head on over to the League of Legends Store to snag them at reduced cost!

Below are the splashes and video previews for the two launch Lulu skins as well as stunningly awesome new skins for both Kog'Maw and Graves.

Mafia Graves

 Jurassic Kog'Maw
( Loving that new death animation! )

Bittersweet Lulu

Wicked Lulu

We are also privy to all the Champion page videos of Lulu and her abilities! Think of it as a mini champion spotlight. You can check out the actual embedded videos over here, or just watch this preview video below to see the abilities in action.

Next up we have tenative patch notes from the PBE! While I couldn't find an official set of PBE notes, I do have an unofficial list of changes pulled from Lolpro.com :
Blitzcrank
  • Rocket Grab now deals 80/135/190/245/300 damage, up from 60/120/180/240/300damage.

Irelia
  • Now only restores 5/7/9/11/13 health on basic attacks when passive. Amount of healthrestored doubles when the skill is activated.
Jax
  • Empower now also increases the damage of his next Leap Strike.
  • Grandmaster's Might no longer increases Attack Power and Attack Damage. Now gives anArmor bonus equal to 25/35/45 + 30% of AD and a Magic Resist bonus equal to 25/35/45 + 20% of AP when active.
Shaco
  • Deceive now increases the damage of his next attack within 6 seconds by 140/160/180/200/220%, down from 140/160/180/220/240%.

  • Maw of Malmortius - Item Cost 3300 - Recipe Cost 925 - Requires Hexdrinker + Pickaxe - +55 Attack Damage +36 Magic Resist UNIQUE Passive: If you would take magic damagethat would leave you at less than 30% Health, you first gain a shield that absorbs 400 magic damage for 5 seconds (60 second cooldown). UNIQUE Passive: +1 Attack Damage for every 2.5% of your Maximum Health that is missing.
Changed Items
  • The Bloodthirster now gives +12% Life Steal, down from 15%. Now gives +0.2% life stealper kill up to 8%, instead of 0.25% per kill up to 10%. Now only half of the stacks are lost upon death instead of all of them.
  • Vampiric Scepter now gives 10% Life Steal, down from 12%.
  • Wriggle's Lantern now gives 12% Life Steal, down from 15%.

As you probably noticed above, there has been a new item added to the game! The new AD caster item is named Maw of Malmortius and is intended for AD Casters ( champions focusing more on AD ratios on abilities rather than auto attacks ) or Bruisers. Building out of a Hex Drinker and a pickaxe, MoM  will give you the following stats:

+55 Attack Damage
+36 Magic Resist
Unique Passive: If you would take magic damage that would leave you at less than 30% health, you first gain a shield that absorbs 400 magic damage for 5 seconds ( 60 second cool down )
Unique Passive: +1 Attack Damage for every 2.5% your maximum health that is missing.

In addition to this, Hexdrinker has also been altered. It now costs 1400 total gold and consists of the following stats:
+25 AD
+30 MR
Unique Passive: If magic damage that would bring you <30% health, you first gain a shield that absorbs 250 magic damage for 3 seconds ( 60 second cooldown )

PHEW! That was a lot of information! Thanks to the multiple, awesome posts on reddit that helped me cover my bases.

EDIT: Here is a fun video featuring some Lulu gameplay.
