Locodoco Leaves CLG.NA

Posted on at 4:01 AM by Moobeat
Earlier today, CLG.na announced that their current support player, Locodoco, is leaving the team and returning to Korea, his home prior to joining the team in late October of this year.
Continue reading for the full announcement from CLG.na, as well as their announcement about tryouts to fill their now vacant support and and substitute spots.

Here is the announcement as posted on CLG's website:
"Today we are announcing the departure of Counter Logic Gaming Prime’s League of Legends player Yoonsup “Locodoco” Choi. Yoonsup and CLG are parting on amicable terms. Yoonsup will return home to Korea where he plans continue his competitive LoL career. CLG would like to thank Yoonsup for his time with the team and wish him good luck on his future endeavors.

Also, we are excited to announce that CLG Prime will be holding an open tryout for its starting support and two substitute positions for Season 3. Tryouts will begin Thursday, December 6th and will continue until Monday, January 7th, 2013. After an initial screening process, applicants will be tested by CLG in a series of custom, in-house, and premade 5 ladder games. Much of these tryout processes will be livestreamed so the public can follow along and we can get a good judge of the players performing under high pressure and high visibility circumstances.

In order to apply, simply send us an email at tryout@clgaming.net. Provide us your summoner name, tell us why you think you deserve a spot on CLG’s roster, and say what you think you could add to the team. Applicants must also meet the following requirements:
  • 17 years of age and a high school degree
  • 2,000 elo minimum currently or in Season 2
  • Be willing to move to the CLG House in California and play full time (starting support position only)
If interested, we will contact you to arrange a time to begin the tryout process. Good Luck!"

The news of Locodoco's departure certainly isn't very surprising given his attitude during his most recent interview with ggChronicle, where he said:
"I had a lot of bad memories in Korea. I don’t want to list them off, but one of the reasons I came to the U.S. was to escape them. Ultimately, coming to the U.S. didn’t fully solve the issues, so I think they follow me a bit. Personally, I think coming to America was a mistake. But it’s important to finish the job well even if it was a mistake. So as I said before, as long as I’m here, I want to achieve above and beyond before returning to Korea."

  27. Would having a high school degree be a problem for you? They want to weed out people who quit school to play a video game. Lots of members of pro-teams are enrolled in college and Wikd is finishing his Masters Degree. Finishing high school isn't a difficult thing to ask for especially so that if the gaming thing doesn't work out you at least have an ability to find a job instead of being stranded. They're being responsible. And stupidiest isn't a word.
